Overview

Hospital Sultan Ismail Johor Bahru (HSIJB) became fully operational in May 2006, making it Malaysia’s second hospital to use the electronic system Total Hospital Information System (THIS). It currently has 18 specialists and 21 subspecialties. HSIJB is a tertiary specialist hospital and the main oncology centre in Malaysia’s southern region. It has its own Clinical Research Centre (CRC) that supports both Industry Sponsored Research (ISR) and Investigator Initiated Research (IIR) in addition to a paediatric palliative care centre (IIR). On January 30, 2018, Hospital Sultan Ismail was named one of the ‘Best Regional Hospitals,’ and its Director, Dr Hjh Azizah binti Riduan, was named one of the ‘Best Managers of the Year.’
